Second Step Housing, located in Vancouver, WA,  applied for an available grant given from Payless Shoes 4 Kids program to seek the opportunity to be selected to receive shoes for kids in need. Since all of our families in our program are very low income, and are at or below 30% Area Median Income (AMI), many families struggle with basic needs such as food and clothing.

We were selected as one of Payless gives newest partners! The response was received as follows:

The positive response received for the 2010 Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids program from organizations like yours is inspiring. This holiday season, Payless ShoeSource, through our grassroots partners, will once again give $1.2 million in free new shoes to children in need across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Latin America.

Thank you for taking time to apply for the first time. We received more than 3,100 applications from nonprofits across the U.S. and Canada this year, breaking our application record.

It is our pleasure to inform you Second Step Housing has been selected as one of the newest Payless Gives partners.

We know that a great pair of shoes can lift spirits, bolster self confidence and bring a huge smile to a child’s face. Your partnership in delivering the coupons makes it possible, and we thank you for the tremendous work you do each and every day in supporting your community and serving children in need.

We are honored to be chosen, and excited to give our families a little more help to make their lives easier.
