T.S. achieved some big milestone’s this month, and she should be congratulated for her perseverance! She entered our Reentry Housing Program located in Vancouver, WA in July of 2010, determined to leave behind 20+ years of addiction. Since July, T.S. has completed an Intensive Outpatient treatment program and is active in her recovery. She is also a participant in Clark County’s Therapeutic Drug Court, which places rigorous programming demands and a high degree of accountability on participants. In October she began the process of getting her driver’s license reinstated and looking for work, but she was told she did not have the correct Social Security number and would need to get that first.

Since October, T.S. has made countless trips to court, vital records, the Social Security office and the Department of Licensing. Last week her hard work paid off when she obtained her Social Security card, a valid driver’s license, and Kudos from the Drug Court Judge.

She immediately started looking for work, and I’m happy to report that she started working this week! I asked her how it felt and she replied,
“It took me 40 years to create this mess with my SS card, so almost 4 months to fix it wasn’t too bad. I’m so grateful for all the blessings I’ve received in recovery and I am just going to keep improving!!”
