Local church football program finds way to help Second Step

§ October 24th, 2011 § Filed under Partnerships § No Comments

Upward Football, a program put on through Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene in Vancouver held a food and necessity drive for the residents of Second Step during two Saturdays in October.

Turned into a team competition, football teams and cheer squads collected hundreds of items including: canned goods, non-perishable food, laundry detergent, shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste and soap.

Thanks to the generous giving from the Little Threads Foundation, Second Step Housing was also the recipient of hundreds of pairs of new shoes and clothing for babies and children.

The generosity of these families was overwhelming and greatly appreciated!
