The Master Gardener Foundation of Clark County has awarded a grant to Second Step Housing’s Women Helping Women Yards & Gardens program. The Yards & Gardens program, led by Martha Brett, introduces Second Step Housing residents to the art and benefits of landscaping and gardening.  With the help of dedicated volunteers, residents learn how to maintain their yard and how to grow fruits and vegetables to enjoy in homecooked meals.  The program helps to educate residents about gardening and good nutrition and promotes pride of home. Funds from the grant will go towards plants, gardening accessories, and spring planning and fall harvest workshops.  In addition, the Master Gardener Foundation will provide seeds and starts. We are grateful to the Master Gardener Foundation for their continued support of this important program.
