Making Connections with Women Helping Women

Women Helping Women provides mentoring, empowerment workshops and a yards & gardens program for the women and families in Second Step Housing’s Transitional Housing program. Becoming Financially Savvy

At Second Step Housing, one of our core group education classes focuses on helping our residents to develop essential financial skills using the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University curriculum.  The class, led by Teri Owen, Housing Services Coordinator, teaches important skills like budgeting, saving, how to spend wisely, how to identify and get rid of debt and establishing appropriate money management goals and plans.  The class is held twice a year for ten-weeks and serves  35-40 clients from Second Step Housing and other nonprofits in the community.[......]
